Feeling like I'm going a bit out of my mind with study. Its tough to hang in there, but I just keep reminding myself that after its over so much fun awaits. Today was a lovely, sunny evening and Katie and I were laughing at ourselves as we sat there in our ratty clothes studying and seeing people sitting outside in the pub across the road. We were thinking what a cool couple of 25 year-olds we are on a Sat night.
My end of night study treat tonight was Thursday's V+ed ep of ER. So amused by the guest appearance of the Oompa Loompa actor.

SNOW! But I have to drive to uni and I hate driving in snow. BOO!
So its my turn to pick the book for the next book group. Since my head is generally a mush of Commercial/Property/EC/Evidence Law I've not really had much time to think about it. Does anyone want to recommend something they read recently (or not so recently in fact)?

I had a really lovely day. I hope you all did too, whatever you happened to be doing and wherever you happened to be. More tomorrow.

Working on my assignment for Family Law. I've finished the first section which is supposed to be 500 words. Mine is over 900. Oh dear. Why am I always so verbose?
Most. Nail-biting. Election. Ever.
I'm so pleased. The crappiness with the ballots aside, this is a great day for Scotland. If only Glasgow would just get over the Labour obsession. And what the hell happens next? Its going to be interesting..

Many of you know how seriously I take my chocolate. I take it very seriously and I love so many different kinds. However, I feel the time has come for me to declare my favourite. It is Terry's Chocolate Orange.

Could someone please point me in the direction of a nice, safe music downloading client-thingy. I was using Frostwire but it doesn't like me anymore. And you guys are all oh-so-much wiser than me.
Today, I have rage.

1. What's a book you've always meant to read but you can never get around to doing it?
'Crow Road' by Iain Banks. I've been told so many times that I'd like it, and I have a copy at home, but I just never seem to get around to it.
2. What's worse, ironing your clothes, doing the dishes or vacuuming?
Definitely ironing clothes. I hate it and really suck at it, especially when it comes to doing shirts. I enjoying doing the dishes, and hoovering isn't so bad. Mostly when I was a student I didn't iron anything. My excuse was "my body heat will take the creases out!". Classy.
3. What's a pairing that you loved in the day and can't stomach now?
While I wouldn't quite say I couldn't stomach it now, the most accurate answer to this is probably Janeway/Chakotay. For me it was probably more about Janeway love than anything else. Beltran is a twat, and so much about the show annoys me now, on the rare occasion that I catch a repeat.
4. Where was the last place you had a cocktail (or a glass of wine, beer, eh - fruit punch?)?
Probably my house. I make a mean Cosmopolitan, and have excellent cocktail glasses and a shaker. They have become a bit of a weekend ritual.
5. Rock journalist, war correspondent, court beat or parliamentary media gallery - which would you prefer if you had to go into the journalistic profession?
I like this question! I'm torn between rock journalist (cos man, how cool would that be!) and parliamentary media gallery, because part of me is always a political geek. I guess since its fantasy I'll go with the former!
And if anyone else is so inclined:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better. If I already know you well, expect the questions may be a little more intimate!
3. You will update your lj with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Why oh why is it only Week 2 of the semester and everything is crazy? Gagh!

So the first exam is down. It was...weird. It was Forensic Medicine and Science for lawyers, 50 questions, multiple choice, with the split between medicine and science being roughly half-and-half. And I gotta say, the medical questions came out of nowhere. Pretty much all of them had not been covered in lectures or the reading. I think my saving grace might prove to be ER and picking up some stuff from Mum and
violagirl over the years. At least its over.
Being trying to hit the Criminal books since I got back, but you know what way where you're jumpy after an exam and just can't sit still? Happening to me right now. Off to see The Last King of Scotland tonight though, which should be fun.
( Some brief thoughts on the Golden Globes )
Better get back to it now!

I just watched Studio 60 The Wrap Party and I'm so tired that all I can bring myself to say is this: Aaron Sorkin can write some really beautiful television and as far as I'm concerned there should always be one of his shows on the air.

Does anybody know anything about connecting your laptop to the tv? I know mine is capable (via tv-out) but that's it. What cables do I need? Is it easy? Any advice would be greatly received. Thank you!

The Grey's Anatomy torrent download thingy is very slow this morning *curses*.
A guy who was the year above me in High School and was in my Higher Computing class is apparently now a famous artist whose paintings sell for thousands of pounds (and Patrick Stewart owns two or three!). He was thoroughly strange and was always showing me stuff he drawn that involved people who were dead/bleeding. Its funny how things turn out.
I can't remember if I mentioned but criminal essay draft is done and I'm quite pleased with it, so that's good. Just playing catch-up on some reading to do. Next week I need to start work on my Law and Society assigments. Lawyers, would-be-lawyers and anyone else who is interested I need an ethically contested issue to which I can "apply the law and morality syllabus" (whatever that means!) So natural law, theories of justice, formalism, utilitarianism, the Hart-Devlin debate, how (and if) law and morality should be separated etc. So far I'm only coming up with euthanasia and embryo research. Ideas please!
Happy Friday everyone
